Education is not just for kids. RaptorLife brings the amazing world of raptors to your classroom, commercial or community event.

Classroom program:

This educational program is suited for grades 3-6.  Students will learn natural history of the bird species represented, how raptors survive in the wild, and the importance of raptors in the ecosystems.  We will also cover predatory/prey relationships, habitat, and basic anatomy.  

The program will highlight local and world raptors in the most endangered status.

This program is also suited for home school programs either for a few students or a collective of home school students. Programs can be developed to fit any curriculum for specific grades or needs.

A live raptor is included in the program.

Program lasts 55 minutes plus 15 minutes for photos and questions. Maximum 30 attendees.

Horned Owl Conservation

Have you ever met a raptor face to face and looked at their color variations?  Have you ever wondered what makes their feathers colored, and whether their bones are really hollow?  Why there are so many different species of raptors? Do they eat vegetables like other animals? 

This educational program is suited for grades 7-12. In this program, students will learn the natural history of the species represented and the importance of raptors in the ecosystems. Topics include predatory/prey relationships, habitat, basic anatomy, and why some raptors are endangered.   This course will also introduce students to the world of falconry—its history, and how this sport helps farmers and airports. 

A live raptor is included in the program.

Program lasts 55 minutes plus 15 minutes for photos and questions. Maximum 90 attendees.

Organizational/adult programs:

Raptor programs are not just for kids. Raptors are fascinating to observe, photograph and learn about in all age groups. This program can be form fitted for your meeting or event. RaptorLife can also arrange a brief nursing home visit.  Prices and program length can vary depending on your needs. 

Basic topics include raptors in the wild and captivity, predator/prey relationships, differences between species, raptor biology, status of raptors in today’s world, also falconry today and yesterday. There is always time for pictures and questions.*

Summer fun with raptors! Programs are built around age groups 5-7, 8-11, 12-15, and 16 above. Each program includes a live raptor, age appropriate crafts, learning about raptor biology, life styles, habitat, predator/prey relationships, and understanding how ecosystems work. Great family fun and an exciting, way to learn about raptors—in the presence of a live raptor

Girl Scouts, Campfire and Boy Scouts

Learn while you earn you badge—in bird study, environmental science, fish and wildlife management, wildlife sleuth or others with a raptor program from Raptorlife. We offer years of experience with birds and science to assist you in earning many of your science badges and a deeper appreciation for the natural world. Our programs are designed to be custom built to fit your badge or group needs. 

Badges earned are the responsibility of the scout master.
